How it begins
На другой день к завтраку подавали очень вкусные пирожки, раков и бараньи котлеты; и пока ели, приходил наверх повар Никанор справиться, что гости желают к обеду.
The next day very good pirozhki were served at lunch, with crayfish and mutton cutlets; and while they ate, Nikanor the cook came upstairs to ask what the guests would like for dinner.
